Professional Portfolio Target:
The target of my portfolio is to secure employment in the arts; I need to attain a full-time job that will jump-start my career while simultaneously pay my bills. Now, because I am just starting out, I am not expecting to land my absolute dream job in the film industry; I realize that’s an unreasonable expectation. I believe that this practical recognition of the situation can only benefit me because it leaves available more possibilities and opportunities. Although my fellow peers’ dedication to the medium is admirable, it may also lead to tunnel vision. The struggle to find a respectable job in the film industry can be extremely long and brutal, and this is exactly why I am not only seeking jobs concerned solely with film, but also employment opportunities dealing with journalism, marketing, web design and maybe even reporting. I know where I ultimately want to wind up, I just need to get my foot in the door somewhere.
